Penina Hotel & Golf Resort is considered the ideal sporting leisure facility, offering its guests a wide selection of sport and leisure activities. The resort offers to its clients 5 hard tennis courts, a children’s club, a 3 Km jogging track, a gym, sauna, massage, beauty center, an outdoor Olympic size swimming pool and a FIFA-sized football field which has been used by teams such as Chelsea from the UK and Borussia Dortmund from Germany for their winter training.

The football pitch may be pre booked in advance for specific sporting events or simply used by hotel guests for a friendly game. Weddings

Gone are the days when the wedding had to take place in the registrar’s office. Weddings taking place outside have become increasingly popular recently. Here at Hotel & Garden U Holubu, we are fortunate with truly wonderful setting of our hotel and its surroundings. 

They provide us with unique and a very atmospheric place for your wedding. The wedding ceremony takes place in a stylish summer house which can be decorated with flowers entirely to your taste. The summer house is set in a meadow, just a few steps away from the main Hotel and restaurant, near the woods. It offers comfortable and enjoyable seatting for all present.

 After the ceremony, most newlyweds and their guests move indoors to eat. The wedding breakfast will usually be served in our restaurant. The restaurant and furniture within offers various options for the seating arrangements, decorations, music, dancing etc. We are able to cater for you to have your wedding feast outside, too. It is less formal, relaxed and very romantic. 

Everybody is able to enjoy themselves, talk to others, children don’t get bored. We are obviously prepared and equipped in the case of poor weather (sun, wind, rain). The outside terrace is also a pleasant place to relax and enjoy the wedding after the main formal part has taken place.

What if it rains? In that case we have a rainy day, an option is ready for you. The ceremony would take place in our winter garden which will be beautifully decorated, offering a romantic atmosphere.

Wedding in Italy - tranquility and beauty - Locanda Palazzone

The Locanda Palazzone is a beautiful contradiction in terms. It is considered to be one of the oldest hotels in the whole of Italy, having started off life as a 13th century pilgrim’s inn, yet it is also one of the country’s most contemporary accommodations with its Scandinavian-style, minimalist design. 

In short, old world heritage and new world panache. We can also add that this restored medieval “palazzo” is the heart of one of Orvieto’s most exclusive wine estates. In fact, it is part of the “Palazzone” winery, one of the region’s top quality winemakers.

Standing on top of the hill, the views are one of utter beauty and there seems to be nothing going on for miles. This is a very quiet spot indeed, though it does include a fine restaurant, and as befits such a place an extensive and fantastic wine cellar, as well as an outdoor pool. The rest is lush and hilly country surrounding this truly charismatic place to stay.

The season, the place, the wines give all their meaning to the dishes we want you to taste. You will be welcomed by the colors of the sunset in a simple and refined atmosphere. 

The lovely view onto the vines and the city of Orvieto becomes the most peacefull and refined setting for our summer ‘dining room’.

Locanda Palazzone is particularly well adapted for hosting weddings or events for a limited number of guests (max 120 persons). For such events we do require that the whole Locanda is rented for a minimum of two nights. We can accomodate up to 18 guests and be of assitance to find the extra rooms needed in the near vicinity. You can rely on our experience and taste to finc the best solution for a full success of the event.

On the garden side to the west of the Locanda there is a large lawn that goes all the way to a Sangiovese vine, where we can accomodate a banquet for 120 guests. The terrace faces east; the view looks onto the vines and the valley all the way to the city of Orvieto and the hills at the back of the valley. Here we can serve lunch for 30 to 35 people and drinks for up to 120 persons.

The main hall on the ground floor is characterised by four major arches and two large glass doors onto the main lawn ; this space allows a reception for 10 to 15 people for dinner . Usually this location is best chosen for an autumn or winter event, when the atmosfere can be even more elegant and warm with the burning openfire.

The ‘Enoteca’ is located on the lower level with an outside access leading onto the terrace. The elevator links the Enoteca directly to the main hall. We can organise dinner parties for 25 to 30 guests in the Enoteca. This dining room is also used in the spring or in the autumn, when the weather becomes too cold ouside after dinner, to continue and finish off the party

The Son Julia Boutique Hotel is the perfect place to relax and find peace in this restored 15th century mansion, located in the beautiful countryside of Mallorca.

Choose from our Chef´s special three and four course Gala Menus and aperitifs, with buffet and barbecue options acompanied by our beverage packages. 

Son Julia´s gardens are over 300 years old, and are in the Arabic style with maze-like hedges and winding paths that lead you finally to the large 25 meter pool at the end of the gardens. Stroll through agapanthus, roses and palm trees to the pond below the pyramide feature and enjoy the peace and quiet.

The two outdoor pools are areas of pure relaxation, chill out in one of the poolside cabañas at the large pool and be served your lunch and drinks from our Pool Bistro in luxury. At our small pool you can enjoy the quiet and calm of an adult-only area.

For families there is also a children´s play area near the private tennis & padel courts, which has a lawn, swings and goal posts.
